Illinois Breast & Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP)
-
Provides screening and diagnostics for breast and cervical
cancer for women who meet certain income, insurance, and age
requirements. The program covers clinical breast exams, pelvic
exams, pap smears, mammograms, and various other procedures when
done in connection with screening for breast or cervical cancer.

Lead Screening

Tests children ages 6 months to 17 years for lead poisoning.
Provides education and counseling. Appointments are required.

Environmental Health
-
Provides services relating to environmental health.

Food Sanitation
-
Inspects and licenses retail food stores and food service
establishments.

Private Sewage (Septic) Disposal
-
Assists property owners with septic system installation. Issues
permits, inspects and records system location.

Well Water Supplies
-
Issues well permits. Deals with testing of well water and
sealing of abandoned wells.

Nuisance/Solid Waste
-
Investigates insect, rodent and garbage complaints.

Tanning
-
Inspects and licenses tanning facilities.

Disease Vectors

Monitors the activity of mosquitoes and the presence and
prominence of mosquito-borne illnesses such as West Nile Virus.

Provides services related to the promotion of good health.

Health Education
-
Serves as a resource for community education on pregnancy,
teens, healthy lifestyles, heart disease, injury prevention,
HIV/AIDs, etc. Provides speakers on health topics to community
groups and organizations. Provides health related statistics
upon request.

Provides prevention programs and tobacco cessation clinics for
adults.

Provides programming and education to promote cardiovascular

Provides services related to the health of mothers and children.

Immunization

Provides diptheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps,
rubella, HIB and hepatitis B vaccines at clinics open to the
public. Appointments are required.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program
-
Provides nutrition education, health screening and nutritious
foods to eligible pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding women,
their infants, and young children with special nutrition and
health needs.

Breastfeeding
-
Provides support for breastfeeding mothers through an
information hotline, consultation services, and support group
activities.

Health Works
-
Provides comprehensive health services to children in the
custody of DCFS, through a collaborative effort of the
Illinois Departments of
Children and Family Services, Public Aid and Public
Health.
- KidCare
-
Enrolls eligible children through age 18 and pregnant women for
health insurance provided by the
State of Illinois.

Teen Parent Services
-
A program for teen parents that encourages and assists them to
stay in school to help them to get their high school diploma or
GED so that they can become self-sufficient.

Family Case Management
-
Assists eligible pregnant women and young children with
obtaining access to prenatal and well child care, immunizations
and screenings.

Child Health Clinic
-
Provides comprehensive pediatric medical care for children under
21 years of age who are Medicaid recipients or who meet
financial guidelines.

Genetics Counseling
-
Provides education and referral for screening and follow-up
counseling for genetic diseases.
