A Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic (STD) is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 to 11am, 1pm to 3:30pm.  Clients 12 years of age and older are eligible for services. This is a walk-in clinic, and clients are seen on a first come, first served basis. If Symptomatic and wishing to see a provider, please call 815-802-9400 Option 3 to inquire for the provider's availability.

A photo ID is required for this confidential clinic, and there is a $30 fee for these services. Individuals should not urinate for at least 1 hour prior to testing; women cannot be on their period (for accuracy of lab results).

During STD clinics we can test for the following STDs: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV (Venous or Rapid), Hepatitis C (Rapid), and Rapid Bacterial Vaginosis and Trichomoniasis (for symptomatic females).

The Kankakee County Health Department offers NO COST rapid HIV testing using a finger stick. You can get results from this confidential in about 15 minutes. All positive rapid HIV tests must be confirmed with a venous blood test.

PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) is when people at very high risk for HIV take HIV medicines daily to lower their chances of getting infected. A combination of two HIV medicines (tenofovir and emtricitabine), sold under the name Truvada® (pronounced tru vá duh), is approved for daily use as PrEP to help prevent an HIV-negative person from getting HIV from a sexual or injection-drug-using partner who’s positive. Studies have shown that PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV if it is used as prescribed. PrEP is much less effective when it is not taken consistently. Talk to your healthcare provider to see if PrEP is right for you.
